Closed for MLK day 1/16
See you tomorrow!
For more than 18 years 60th Ave just north of Foster had a feline mascot named Sable (some knew him as Simba). A smart and tough cat he had an unusually long life for an outdoor cat. In the last couple years he had adopted Meticon and would often meet me on my porch and walk with me on my way to work. He kept me company, greeted customers, and of course did a lot of snoozing. The shop feels a little empty without him.
Thanks Sable for all the comfort and companionship you gave me.

Sable 1993-2012
As usual we’ll be taking a little break between Christmas and New Years. After this Saturday (the 24th) we will be closed until Tuesday the 3rd of January. See you then!
All of our 2011 models are discounted up to $150 off. Quantities and sizes are limited but as an added bonus any accessories (such as lights, locks, and fenders) purchased with your new bike will be 20% off with free installation! Check the for sale page for available bikes.
We’ll be closed this Thursday 11/24 for the observation of Thanksgiving. See you Friday!
The courtesy pump we had locked up outside lasted for exactly 30 days before it was stolen. We will replace it soon.
In the meantime we apologize for the inconvenience but air will be available only during regular business hours till then.
Fun on Foster includes events all up and down the street. Here at Meticon we are having a huge sidewalk sale. All new bikes are $50 to $100 off the manufacturers recommended price and we are also clearing out many used items as well. Wheels, frames, partial bikes, complete bikes, just about everything! Starting at 10 am and going all day to closing time at 5. Come on by!
For the last year we have been open on Mondays from 10-2. We think it will be more useful if we were instead open later and we are changing those Monday hours to 4pm to 8pm. Please feel free to email the shop with suggestions!
The phone is back up!
Having a little trouble with the phone today. We are open, I assure you! Stop by or send an email with any questions!
Sorry for any inconvenience!
I’ve been meaning to do this for a while. You can now access a pump 24 hours a day in front of the shop. If you’re unfamiliar with this “twinhead” style of pump handy instructions have been placed in the window opposite of the pump.
Enjoy!
With our crazy groupon winter and the usual busy busy summer we haven’t had time to acquire and refurbish used bicycles. We hope to get back to recycling good older bikes soon.
In the mean time Meticon is now offering new bicycles! We looked hard to find new bikes that are high quality for a low price. Check out our for sale page to see the selection!
With such a large project it is important to let people have as many chances to share their views on it as possible. If you have questions, concerns, or enthusiasm to share tonight is the night to come talk about it!

This Monday we will be closed for July 4th to celebrate some Independence. Regular hours will resume on Tuesday.
Tomorrow is the start of Pedalpalooza! Check the shift2bikes.org event calander for many events. If you are in the Foster area there is the Fourth Annual Foster Tavern Ride meeting at Smokey’s bar at 10pm Thursday. I went last year and it was good times! If you are in the area, enjoy bikes, beer, and meeting your neighbors come ride with us!
Groupon was a great experience and thanks to all who participated! Now it’s time to get ready for the busy summer season. With the weather still being unpredictable we are not backed up yet. Feel free to bring your bikes in for service!
This Saturday is the annual fix it fare at Marshall. Kids can get their bike repaired for free! It’s from 10am to 1pm at the Marshall campus. details here.
If you have basic mechanic skills we might need some extra hands! Food will be provided and it is a lot of fun. If you want to volunteer call the shop or shoot me an email!
NOTE: We always reserve some space and manpower for all our regular customers, feel free to bring you bikes in as usual.
If you are waiting for the call to bring your bike in we still have some left on the waiting list. Basically if you waited to call for an appointment until the 23rd of February or later you haven’t been called yet. Soon, I promise.
Thanks again for your patience!
